Counter Stools

The hunt for counter stools has been ridiculous. You’d think it would be easy since this industrial trend has been going on for over a year now. Mr. Manor and I have been looking on Craigslist weekly, and coming up short. We knew the look we liked…

And we knew the functionality that was important to us from using other people’s stools. For instance. Ours had to have a back, even if it was a small back and it had to have a foot rest. Sitting on a flat wood service with no back even for a short period of time is the worst. As a homeowner, you think it couldn’t be that bad, but as a guest, it’s a completely different story. Unless of course, they are padded which makes them tolerable. The foot rest was important too. To have your legs just hang is really uncomfortable. Lastly, we knew our budget. I really didn’t want to spend more than $100 per stool. That’s a ton of money on just a chair. Both Mr. Manor and I really like the Arterior ones seen below, but at $480 a pop, there’s no way.

We’ve been living with a restoration option that I found on clearance at Home Goods, but seeing as how we need 4 of them, they are just too big and clunky to work out. Too bad, because they are only $69 a pop at Home Goods, and extremely comfortable…

I was about to give up, until I found these!

They have a slight ‘butt’ indentation, which I guess constitutes as a back. The foot rest looks well placed. A pretty good knock off of the Arterior ones, but $139 a piece. HOWEVER, they are currently, 15% making them $118 and Wisteria is currently doing a sale right now if you spend $500 you get $100 off. So…with shipping, and taxes, each one comes out to $108. Which is just at our budget. These babies are two days away from our house and I couldn’t be more excited.
